Recently, I created a basketball video using the Nikon Z6 III with the 70‑200mm S lens, recorded entirely in ProRes at 25 frames per second (25p). This project was designed to showcase the camera’s capabilities in capturing fast action, sharp details, and smooth motion in sports videography.
Shooting at 25p provides natural motion for storytelling, perfect for web platforms like YouTube, while ensuring compatibility with European broadcast standards. The frame rate also allows better control during post-production, preserving fine details and subtle lighting nuances throughout the footage.
Production Process
The video was produced following a professional workflow:
- Pre-production:
- Selection of the basketball court and setup.

- Camera preparation with ProRes 10-bit settings to maximize quality.
- Shooting:
